Photo Assignment 2
In Photo Assignment 2, we were asked to test and use more elements of Photoshop. On the first task, I used the Selection Tool to isolate the objects then used Remove Colour to give the black and white background.
Black and White Photo 1
Black and White photo 2
The next assignment was to create a photo montage by overlapping pictures and erasing the edges to blend them together.
On the next part we were told to create a Panorama by taking photos across a landscape, overlapping the pictures and using the Photomerge to link them all together.
In the next assignment, we explored different types of how to compose people pictures.
The first tip was getting different types of pictures by switching the view from vertical and horizontal.
The second tip was Subject Placement. Place the subject off center to create a good subject placement.
Backgrounds. Using plain backgrounds will focus attention on your subject instead of distracting other things.
Point of View. By using different points of view, you can get exciting angles and interesting pictures.
Low angle looking up
Close-ups. Close-ups give a more personal touch to your photos.

Monday
Today in Comm Tech we took up the terms quiz we did on Friday. Then we learned about how to use the Dodge and Burn tools on Photoshop and found they lightened and darkened images. After playing around with those tools for awhile I continued on working on Photo Assignment 2, creating the Black and White photos with a colour image in the middle.
Tuesday
Today in Comm tech we started learning about the Top 10 Rules of Photography which we were assigned to post on our blogs. Here they are:
1. Get down on their level
Getting down to your subjects eye level will help capture smiles and facial expressions better. This will help to create a more warm and inviting picture especially for children and pets.
2. Use a plain background
Before snapping a picture checking the area behind your subject. Lookout for trees and poles sprouting from your subjects head and watch for cluttered backgrounds that can be distracting and take away emphasize from your subject.
3. Use flash outdoors
Use flash even outdoors to improve the photos. Flash works in bright sunlight to lighten dark shadows under eyes and nose while on cloudy days flash is used to brighten up faces and make them stand out.
4. Move in close
To create impactful pictures move in close and fill your picture with the subject to eliminate distractions and show off details of the main subject.
5. Take some vertical pictures.
Some things like buildings, monuments and full length pictures of friends look better vertically so try to make and effort to take some vertical pictures.

Digital Photo Assignment 1
On this assignment we were told to Manipulate and enhance pictures using Photoshop and test different effects to them.
The first photo, I used the Stamp filter to distort the photo.
The third photo, Levels, Colors and lighting were adjusted.
On the fourth photo I adjusted the lighting with Shadows/Highlights and Brightness/Contrast.
The fifth photo, I used the Clone tool and removed the dumpsters and added signs to the wall with the selection tool.
The clone tool selection techniques were used to make the tree disappear and add pop cans to the ground.
In this photo, the inverse and blur tools were used to emphasize the subject.
These pictures also utilized the inverse/blur effects to make the subject stand out.
The last photo shows a regular picture placed with a customized backround.
This is the end of Photo Assignment one, I hoped you enjoyed my pictures.
